New Song Demo – No Way Out – DanLynch.org

Hey everyone, I’m back! And sooner than I expected. Today I’d like to share with you a work in progress song from the new album I’m currently creating. This isn’t 100 percent finished but it is 95 percent at least and I thought I’d post it so you can have a listen.

The song in question is called “No Way Out” and it’s completely new. I wrote and recorded it early last year, around the time I discussed my musical plans here. I played all the instruments and mixed it myself.

You can press the play button above to hear this new song. The part I’m not 100 percent happy with is the vocals. They are a bit dry and may need some effects, I also think I could do a better performance so might re-record them. For those interested in the technical side of things, this was all recorded and produced in Reaper, with some VST plugins and other tools. The drums are from Groove Agent. They sound pretty natural and I’m happy with that, but recording drums is still a challenge for me with my current set up.

Feel free to download the track (press the button above) and share it, listen to it or even remix in some way if you’re so inclined. All I ask is that you release it back to me under the same terms. I am releasing this song under Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike Non Commercial 4.0 International license. Why Non Commercial I hear you cry, it’s not a free culture license! Well I accept that but for now I would like to restrict anyone using this for say a TV advert, unlikely I know but still a valid concern.

I have another 9 tracks in various states of completion and my rough plan is to keep working on them and hopefully (that’s the key word here) releasing a new album on Bandcamp later in the year.
