Rasmus Hojlund has agreed to join Manchester United and has rejected a late proposal from Paris Saint-Germain, despite a higher financial offer.

The Atalanta striker will be United’s third signing of the summer. Mason Mount, an attacking midfielder, joined Manchester United earlier this summer, while the club also signed Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

According to reports on Tuesday, the Red Devils already have an agreement with Hojlund in place, with parameters negotiated for a five-year contract, and they will not be brought into Atalanta’s transfer assessment of the striker.

The Serie A club believes they can get £80 million for the striker, but this public position is understood to be at odds with their private valuation of the player, with United making it clear from the start that they will not bid more than £60 million.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, United and Hojlund are now convinced that a deal will be completed by the end of the week. It comes as the two teams discuss a transfer fee following the player’s agreement.

PSG, who are looking for a new striker due to concerns about Kylian Mbappe’s future and the departure of Lionel Messi, offered the Denmark international a financial package worth €50 million.

Hojlund has made an impression in his first season in Bergamo after joining from Sturm Graz last summer. In Serie A, he scored nine goals and gave four assists while also impressing his country in the European Championships qualifications.

Hojlund stated his choice for joining United in January: “Now that you ask, I will not hide the fact that I am a huge Manchester United fan.” So, personally, that would be one of the most important things for me, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t accept offers from other large clubs at some point.”
With his Instagram activity, Hojlund has thrown another significant indication about his intention to finalize the deal; the striker ‘liked’ a photo showing United boss Erik ten Hag welcoming goalkeeper Andre Onana after his transfer was completed. The club’s official account captioned the photo, “The moment we were waiting for.”
